For over four decades, the Canada/ESA Cooperation Agreement has led to mutually beneficial activities in a wide range of space activities. From protecting our planet, exploring our Universe, to enhancing our autonomies and resilience, ESA and Canada have been friends a long time, eh? #ESAxCanada🍁

With all sincerity, Elections Canada is a national treasure.

- Voting typically takes less than 15 minutes
- We make it easy for citizens to vote, without cumbersome registration hurdles
- We have every reason to trust that ballots will be counted fairly, and results reported swiftly

First decent attempt at The Pinwheel Galaxy (M 101)

Tons of noise last night but managed to pull out some of the colours in the spirals so overall not too bad

Caught a break in the clouds and decided to image the M81 siblings. Can't wait to see how it turns out

Sadly it doesn't look like the Seestar has enough zoom to get proper details on M82

Cloudy skies for the next few days so I thought I'd share some #astrophotography fails.

Make sure your Seestar isn't fogging up else you'll waste a 1 hour exposure 😞

Attempted targets are NGC 4490 (Cocoon Galaxy), M3 Globular Cluster and the Leo Triplet

Do you know (or are you) a senior scientist in the USA who might like to move to Canada in the near future? The 2026 call for CERCs (Canada Excellence Research Chairs) was posted last month: 🧪 ⚛️ 🔭 🇨🇦
Canada Excellence Research Chairs - Home
The CERC Program offers eligible Canadian degree-granting universities the opportunity to establish research Chairs at their institutions in research areas that are of strategic importance to Canada.

Andromeda (M31)🌌

My first astrophotograph from the skies of Canada! M31 is only 2.5 million lightyears from Earth! It's orbited by some smaller galaxies, the largest being M110; thats the bright blob below the main galaxy! 🔭

Crab Nebula using #Seestar S50

Had to edit this image quite a bit to rescue it from the cloud cover that showed up part way through. Still not a bad attempt!

Any recommendations for Canadian astrophotographers out there?

I'm hoping to give my Seestar a go for the first time and would love to see what kind of targets are feasible (with or without the Seestar)!
