Here is Ricochet Media's @ethancox.bsky.social dressing down Ezra Levant for disrupting the leaders debate

"What I don't like Ezra is you preventing us from being able to ask questions on behalf of the public -- you created a circus here"

When I was 23 years old I was just completing my first semester of journalism school. I remember how nervous I felt even calling people for interviews.

Hossam was 23.

Instead of legislating kidnapping, confinement and torture for adults, Alberta should be repealing the Protection of Children Abusing Drugs (PChAD) Act.

Why won't Alberta, famous for moral panics around kids, protect the many hundreds treated this way each year?

Survival of Alberta children forced into drug withdrawal is not monitored
The Alberta government has yet to release its proposed Compassionate Intervention Act but indicated in 2023 that the Act would extend existing legislation for forced abstinence of children to adults. ...

But we do know there are >500-600 youths forced in every year.

A sea of trauma the private treatment industry floats on.
Only 10% of youths in Alberta are Indigenous, yet they represent 41% of youths forced into abstinence.

Does this have anything to do with the 8X higher drug poisoning mortality rate among First Nations in Alberta?

We don't know. The government doesn't track outcomes of PChAD. At all.

Complete with good example of COI disclosure. Ahem. Alberta.

Temitope Oriola: Let's take politics out of Edmonton police oversight
The notion of wanting to influence who gets appointed to the agency that oversees your duties is anathema to the concept of accountability.

In addition to the obvious problem of only appointing people uncritical of policing to an oversight body, I challenge the McFee's suggestion that the breakdown in relationship is council's fault. He's been combative and belligerent with anyone who even asks a question that he doesn't like.

Public said the bylaws sucked. Council sent them back - and now the city is proposing even more ways to police Edmontonians? Who is actually going to enforce all these things? Just say the quiet part out loud - you want to crackdown on unhoused folks and peaceful protesting. #yegcc
