🚨 This vile post is from Children’s Health Defense (CHD), the org founded by our boss, RFK Jr.

CDC staff are named in comments.

We believe this is a credible threat to public health workers and have reported it to the FBI: 1‑800‑CALL‑FBI (tips.fbi.gov), and GBI 770-216-3000. You can report it too.

Starbucks’ CEO makes 6,666x what the average @sbworkersunited.org barista does. It would take less than one day of sales to finalize a fair contract.

Baristas at Starbucks corporate stores nationwide are on strike to fight this corporate greed and get the fair contract they deserve.

In case anyone needs reminding this week, the measure of a functional government is not whether it relieves you of the discomfort of having to look upon suffering, but how well it prevents suffering in the first place.

Verizon Wireless will work with furloughed federal employees to either split your payment or move the due date forward 30 days if you call them.

I hope expecting the Administration to abide by judicial decisions isn’t the only strategy.
We’re in a quick break right now. The biggest revelation is that the feds might be in contempt of court for defying judges temp. restraining order. Turns out they sent Oregon Guard to Portland ICE from 11 pm to 2 am Oct. 4 to 5, six hours after judge ordered them not to. @oregoncapitalchronicle.com
Looks like I’m the first one here at the Mark O. Hatfield U.S. District Court House in Portland for day 1 of 3 day trial in State of Oregon et al. v. Trump et al. over Trump’s attempted Guard deployment. (traumatized by being kicked to overflow last time). Follow @oregoncapitalchronicle.com

🚨BIG changes happening -- ICE leadership is being purged tonight. The old guard, which prioritized targeted enforcement operations aimed at people with criminal records, is being replaced with Border Patrol and Gregory Bovino's "Midway Blitz" style.

Think things are bad now? It'll get worse.

Proud to stand with my fellow councilors, Mayor Wilson, Multnomah County Commissioners, and the many organizations calling on the Trump Administration to release critical food assistance funds.

#FundSNAPNow
Multnomah County and Portland leaders, community partners call on Trump administration to fund food assistance to prevent hardship, hunger and suffering for 136,000 County residents
The federal administration can immediately act to release these contingency funds at any time — today, even — and spare 136,000 of our neighbors from needless suffering and hunger.

⚠️ STATES, LOCALS, TRIBAL NATIONS, TERRITORIES ⚠️

HHS has eliminated EVERY SINGLE SAFEGUARD FOR DATA PROTECTION AT CDC. Giving data to CDC is no longer safe and puts your residents at risk.

Unless and until all CDC’s data protections are restored you should consider CDC a bad actor.

Y'all who keep lecturing protesters to "not give them an excuse" need to pause for a minute. Imagine yourself telling a DV victim, "Be sure not to mouth off or make any mistakes so he won't hit you. Don't give him an excuse! It's what he wants!" That's what you fools sound like.

NEW: After paying for hotel rooms to shelter homeless people, Seattle deliberately left them vacant.

By the end of 2024, taxpayers were spending $4,200 a month per empty room at a time when thousands of residents were without a roof over their heads.
Seattle Spent Millions on Hotel Rooms to Shelter Unhoused People. Then It Stopped Filling Them.
Early last year, the city signed a $2.7 million lease extension to continue using a hotel’s rooms as shelter space. Yet despite committing to pay the rent, the city stopped sending people there.

Electing renters to City Councils works! @runforsomething.net alums @paige-ellis.bsky.social @zoforaustin.bsky.social & others CMs were renters when they were elected & their lived experience helped get critical housing reforms passed in Austin! If you are renting, & want to run, register for this:
