This. My mother finally broke me of the habit. I painted her a picture of her favourite flowers for her birthday, and she responded with an offer to buy me a "how to" book on the subject matter. I was in my late 40s.

My mother refuses to listen to me and constantly interrupts when I'm talking to her.
Now she thinks my wife is much older than she actually is because she interrupted me to rephrase her question from "how old is she?" To "when was she born?" Vastly different.

Found out today that one of the people I've dealt with regularly for comic purchases over the past 5 years has passed away.
She's the 5th death of a friend/acquaintance of mine this year.

I don't think I have the energy left in me to fight against the misinformation & total bullshit now happening for the Canadian election. I'll push for younger people to vote & expend energy there, but... you can't fix stupid.

I had a dream last night about an old friend I haven't talked to in a few years. They came over & said they're doing fine & have life sorted out. Then they walked away again. I was left to myself, thinking they never asked me how I was.
