this might be orthogonal to the actual OP, but i really worry how often people are sold on the performance of intellect rather than its outcomes, and maybe this worry is misplaced

The Trump regime is deliberately deploying ICE agents at immigration hearings so they can more easily detain migrants.

Armed, masked men abducting people from courthouses —and arresting those who ask why — is the stuff fascism is made of.

The real problem boils down wealth inequality and the complete lack of social mobility making people feel increasingly hopeless. The people who did make it to the top will never admit it was mostly luck or privilege, because it doesn't serve their interests. So they peddle this nonsense. 1/?

if you find yourself reluctant to support the guy at Columbia because you find some of the politics he espoused distasteful or even abhorrent, you should know that this is exactly the reaction that they hoped for in choosing him as a target for unlawful detention based on political speech.

This is appalling. Whether or not something is "settled science" doesn't depend on whether *laymen* are skeptical.

This is settled science. All studies disprove the initial faked study that started the controversy.
According to a former editor of JAMA, we need more studies on whether or not vaccines cause autism.

What mistakes does he make?

A lot of researchers and scientists in general tend to be on the spectrum, so it would be more correct to say that autism causes vaccines.

Next, researchers will work to design bispecific antibodies that would be effective against all coronaviruses, the virus family including ones that cause the “common cold,” MERS, and COVID-19. This approach could potentially also be effective against influenza and HIV.

This is such a great point because here we have the world’s richest man and the president of the United States and they’re both idiots, and there’s a cognitive dissonance where one can argue “they can’t be idiots, look what they’ve accomplished.” But yet still they are idiots
They need him to be a genius because they cannot handle what it means for them to be tricked by a fool.

A common trap for PMs is when you keep making slight adjustments to your product roadmap to address roadblocks (e.g. removing feature to hit deadline, changing another due to tech feasibility, etc) but don’t realize that your product has strayed so much from the original vision to be unrecognizable.

Vaccines DO NOT cause autism.

But what the autistic people in your life hear when you spread that widely debunked misinformation is that you would prefer to have a child die a painful death from eradicated communicable disease than to be like them.

That's nasty work.

Hope this helps!
