Maria has been accused over the years of fabricating her story that she had gone to the FBI. After finding the document in the trove, I called her. She broke down in tears.

“The phenomenon is known as induced demand. The result is an endless cycle in which congestion leads to highway expansion, which invites more trips, which brings back traffic…The pattern is so inevitable that economists have dubbed it the iron law of congestion.” #InducedTraffic

It's like on the eve of WWII we decided to stop funding R&D into weapons systems to develop advanced aircraft, ships, and tanks. Climate change is going to kick our butts if we lose NCAR (and NOAA) at a time when climate change is increasing extreme weather events capable of crashing the economy.
Exclusive: The Trump administration is moving to dismantle the National Center for Atmospheric Research in Colorado, according to a senior White House official, taking aim at one of the world's leading climate research labs.

DC statehood now.
DC Cir. will allow the continued deployment of National Guard troops in D.C. while the litigation continues.

Decision rests on idea that D.C. has no sovereignty (or federalism interest) of its own bc it is not a state.

This is a true & effectively irrefutable argument ... which is why it's so fun to read the absolute cosmic nonsense in the comments.

"I need to go higher than the speed limit when I'm passing/avoiding something/driving in snow/feel like it!"
My least popular (and most correct) view is that cars should be automatically limited to the local speed limit. Put the pedal to the floor and you still can't go over 25mph in a residential area.

(15 in Manhattan btw)
There is no possible justification for limiting e-bikes to 15mph but not cars.

It usually changes a few %. This year, it went up 15.8%.
