AI tools do not understand what is being asked, how they respond, or the concept of "a question"; they procedurally generate strings of words in an order that's based on algorithmic likelihood. there is nothing intelligent at play here, and i need everyone to internalize this. ai cannot be trusted.
Put differently, regardless of the merits or lack thereof of the tool, people can’t seem to be trusted to use it and until we impose severe consequences for negligent use of the tool, we’re courting disaster.
