Measles requires 95% vaccination rates for herd immunity.

It has a 16.2% case fatality rate for unvaccinated children under 5 years and 24% for children under 9 months (who are unable to be vaccinated).

30% of the survivors experience severe complications like blindness, deafness, or encephalitis.
These are the vaccination rates of kindergartners by state. It takes 95% coverage of MMR vaccine to prevent measles outbreaks & most states are not achieving it. I fear that under the new administration rates will drop even further and we will start to see preventable illness, disability, and death

Smallpox used to kill >1/3 people.
In 1796, Edward Jenner noticed that milkmaids who had had cowpox (a mild form of smallpox) seemed immune to smallpox. So he inoculated a child (not ethical today) and the child was also immune. The first vaccine! The original: books.google.com/books?id=QQm...

As a former labor secretary, I know firsthand how crucial this agency is to protecting workers from bosses who cut corners on safety to pad their own pockets.

This is the party of corporate greed, not the party of workers.

The military forced us out of our homes at gunpoint in 1942 because we were considered possibly disloyal Americans. They sent us to internment camps for four years.
