"Hey, guys? Remember how much stronger we got preparing for the androids? Why aren't we just doing that all the time?"

"We don't train like that during the offseason, Gohan."

"Offseason?"

"When there isn't a big bad to face."

"Are... Are we treating world-destroying threats like sports seasons?"

This racism and harassment for being a Flipnote artist is doubly ironic when video game cartridges (Jerry Lawson), 3d glasses (Kenneth Dunkley), and real-time 3d images (Valerie Thomas) were all invented by black people 💀

Of all platforms I shared my Art vs Artist video, Twitter been the only place where some people were actually disappointed I was black!

I screenshoted that one because it's so hilarious to me!

If you are a popular animator and make cute things, you can't be black? So Twitter 😂😭

The (Yasin) Burushaski word for the Kho is melɡúśas, and their language Khowar is melɡuśáski.

I think this may be related to the Mulkhow valley in central Chitral.

The empty French spot after 'pōpulum' ("poplar') used to be occupied in Old French: 'peuple'.

It was pronounced differently from 'pueple' ("people") - until their vowels merged and confusion could arise.

French then resorted to 'poplier'. It later took the vowel of 'peuple', becoming 'peuplier'.
Spanish ‘palabra’ and Portuguese ‘palavra’ have the same origin as French ‘parole’ and Italian ‘parola’, but there’s a big difference: the R and L were swapped.

This type of linguistic change is called metathesis.

Coiro is a bit archaic, though, "couro" is way more common in Brazil and Portugal, but I think galician preserves it as coiro.

Looking at the photo of the coat, it looks like it was meant for a much narrower model. Pretty sure it was meant to worn closed by means of lacing.

None of this takes away from the fact that Billy was a tenacious & courageous fighter and a brilliant politician.

I recall seeing a waistcoat of Billy’s on a Lucy Worsley programme & even she commented on how small it was. He had been a sickly ‘delicate’ child &, as an adult, was somewhat stooped and seems to have been well below 5’7”. Certainly his wife was much taller than him.

What surprised me is that billy was quite tall. I always imagine people of that time to be small and gracile. Billy mustve been c. 5'10 at least and quite broad. A fascinating artefact

I had a much needed happy heritage day in Dundalk, in the superb Louth museum. While there were 'old friend' artefacts, it was King Billys coat which tickled me today. It was donated from a family who owned it 150 years prior to 1926, and is the buffalo skin jerkin worn at the Battle of the Boyne

This.
People living in UK - especially GB - should not be thinking 'at least we're not as bad as America,' when Northern Ireland exists and civilians were being shot by state forces there for decades, and recent governments have given those forces amnesty. @grantsana.bsky.social leading bsky voice here.
