You know that part in Independence Day when Jeff Goldbloom is knocking everything over, saying it doesn't matter anymore.

Yeah, it feels like we're there right now.

These are so dumb. Especially in a city with good mass transit.
“Traffic lights across the city were down, seemingly confusing the driverless cars —& halting them in their tracks. Riders and pedestrians posted videos of Waymos stuck at intersections, long lines of drivers behind them.”

Less well known— driverless cars contribute to traffic congestion EVERY day.

Numerous autonomous vehicles caused traffic jams across San Francisco after a PG&E outage hit 1/3 of the city.

Kids are coming over today but didn't want turkey, so we're doing enchiladas! Meat is already slow cooking.

All AI seems to be for is taking notes for meetings and making fake videos of Mr. Roger's. Not worth the hype.
Artificial intelligence has caused concern for its tremendous consumption of water and power. But scientists are also experimenting with ways that AI can help people and businesses use energy more efficiently and pollute less.

I saw 3 or 4 drivers waving trump flags or maga hats yesterday, but otherwise they were very absent.
The fact that there were no counterprotests shows that Trumpism and MAGA barely exist outside of social media. This movement has gradually collapsed completely within the population. — It’s difficult to fill the real world with Trump government troll bots.

Time for the morning doom scroll. What horrible thing has the government done now.

Logic
If it’s the Golden Age & everything is great & the economy is booming & Trump has ended all wars & slayed inflation & everyone is happy & drug prices are down & his approval is at 71% & everyone hates Dems, why would they need to do mid-decade gerrymandering to hold the House?

"BuT it'S dIfFeRenT ThiS TiMe!"
The idea that we can "easily" overthrow the regime in Iran is a fantasy of people that have never served. Afghanistan is back in the hands of the Taliban after 20 years of slaughter. Iraq still isn't peaceful. Libya is a war zone that's been in civil war since we dropped bombs. History is screaming!

FIFA needs to host all the games in Canada & Mexico, just skip the US
America is one of those countries where if you host a global sporting event, inclusive messages have to be censored to so as not to anger the central government. In this case the message is “racism is bad” www.nytimes.com/athletic/643...

Attended an event downtown LA today.

Drove through downtown LA to get home.

No riots.

No looting.

No burning cars.

It's hard to overstate the extent to which this is a manufactured crisis.
