I think one of the things that’s really going to upset a lot of people is that Trump voters in the USA and fans of his here and elsewhere are not going to abandon him, much less the world he represents, regardless of what he’s done.

LiveJournal congratulated me for 23 years on the platform—I figure I stopped using it about 18 years ago. Started using Facebook not long after that and Twitter about 15 years ago. Deleted my Twitter account when Musk bought the business. Haven’t posted to Facebook since before the pandemic.

Rewatching Andor where he’s given a 6 year sentence up from 6 months under new sentencing guidelines. I can’t help but think about sentencing guidelines sought by Victoria government here for children to face life sentences.

But you can bet that governments will subsidize fossil fuels and extend their use for as long as possible, making a lie of their free market dogmas and year after year deepening the environmental damage fossil fuels cause.

Decided to rewatch Alien: Earth. Checked up on some of the reading of Peter Pan. Just read the first chapter… that is seriously creepy and weird for what is ostensibly a kids story.

More than a myth that promotes inequality, it empowers people that are motivated by increasing inequality.

Someone was wrong on the internet: recommending product P with feature F over product Q. But Q also has F, (simpler but still central), showing the reviewer's misunderstanding of Q, (and maybe Q's poor demos and docs).

Strange days, the first person I knew who died was the brother of the first girl I really had a crush on. I remember moments alone with her with such intensity.
My brother and I used to go home with them to wait after school; my parents worked shifts.

We should stop praising people for their wealth. We should praise people for the amount of tax they pay. That way we can have a tax regime such that we don't have billionaires any more and the avaricious crybabies can still say they've won the money race.
