She was broken by it, I only heard all of this from my mother, but when you're young you don't get to be where you want to be or need to be.
And weirdly 40+ years later the memory has me in tears.

I picked up a Sam Phillip's cassette at the same time, The Turning, and she ended up being the sound track to my loss of faith. The 90's were a roller coaster.
