It's such a magical feeling when I write a description or something on a Wikidata item, and I return to the item a while later, and find that strangers have translated my words to many languages I don't speak. Really drives home the global scope of the project :)

@edent.tel Lol, what are you using to render the 3D buildings? Carew Tower is tall but it ain't that tall. The OSM way is tagged `height=574'` – I'm guessing whatever library doesn't realize that the apostrophe means it's in feet rather than meters.

The headline really underplays the story -- ChatGPT gave him advice about how to hide redness around his neck and about hiding the noose from his family. This is so fucked. There needs to be liability here; there needs to be a legal requirement to have robust guardrails in place.

this is getting next to no media attention and it’s horrifying. transphobes weren’t going to stop at bathrooms, no hormones for minors, they are going to keep pushing until it’s entirely illegal and no one is standing up for us other than trans people
