I have a new open-access article in the Journal of Postsecondary Student Success that examines whether colleges respond to accountability pressures by trying to increase enrollment. At least in the short term, that may have been the case.

"The Kamala Harris Provision"... This is the best hypothesis I've seen on the nonsense of specifically mentioning student and work visas in this executive order.
I went through Trump's birthright citizenship EO, line-by-flagrantly-unconstitutional-line, to highlight the illegal, the racist, and the just plain incorrect understanding of the constitutional *right* to citizenship.

I wonder how many people in the U.S. would not be considered citizens now if the Trump executive order would have been implemented. depending on how long you go back in time, I am sure it would be a very considerable number of the population.

Reading Baldwin's 70 year old essays sound still so relevant "We have a very deep-seated distrust of real intellectual effort (probably because we suspect that it will destroy, as I hope it does, the myth of America to which we cling sonl desperately)." 2025 will be another tough year for #highered.
