A doctor who witnessed the shooting submits a sworn declaration in federal litigation to halt ICE surge in MN:

the video of another person being murdered by the state on the streets of minneapolis shows exactly what people are saying it shows. make your own choices but don’t feel like you are obligated to bear witness to it. reading a description is enough.

ICE kills. Again. Today.
My kid takes language classes at a cafe in Minneapolis on Saturday mornings. Last week the instructor moved them online for safety. Today, just at the time we would have arrived, ICE shot someone 1/2 a block away. @mayorjacobfrey.bsky.social @governorwalz.mn.gov Get these thugs out of my city.

The ICE administrative warrant memo gives its officers authority greater than the general warrants used by the English that the 4th Amendment was designed to prevent. It allows law enforcement to enter homes based on "warrants" that they themselves approve, removing any external check.

Very interesting forthcoming article on state constitutional equivalents to the 4th Amendment, and how state courts do and don't interpret them, from Quinn Yeargain.

A federal judge has imposed restrictions on federal agents toward protesters in Minnesota, ordering agents not to retaliate against people “engaging in peaceful and unobstructive [sic] protest,” or to use pepper spray or other “crowd dispersal tools.” storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.us...

I really want ppl w/o Minneapolis connections to understand

You might've heard that Mpls public schools went hybrid bc so many families are in hiding. Well, a coworker just told me that today, during his kid's hybrid class, a kid's apt building was raided onscreen

The lesson is shut up or get shot?
A woman recording an ICE agent tells him "Shame on you."

The agent responds, "Have you all not learned from the past couple of days?"

"Learned what?" she asks

Then he knocks her phone out of her hand

It’s sublime counter programming.

I hate to break it to you, but heavily-armed government militias are roaming unchecked through US cities and shooting human rights observers dead in the streets. That's happening in our country.

After the assassination of Melissa Hortman it’s not hard to understand why a woman in Minnesota would be afraid of a man in a mask who says he’s a cop.

Yeah, it makes sense: what is somewhat unique about AALS is that it brings together everybody in the law, so why not really lean into that? We have a surplus of subject-matter specific convenings where you can do the work to really plug into your field(s). Time and a place for everything.
