We have news. The good news is a lot of notices of award we sent out under the continuing resolution with cuts will now get 98%. The bad news is we have to renegotiate with PIs again. We'll do our best to get these out, but we ask PIs to work with us on public facing titles, abstracts, and aims.

For ESIs dealing with grants being rescinded: if an investigator’s 1st substantial independent research award is terminated within the first 3 years of the project period (not due to scientific misconduct ) they can request the reinstatement of ESI status

We could use something like this in Aotearoa. The ordinary person around the motu has no idea what the situation is for our public researchers. Too many think researchers have 'cushy' jobs. A campaign to inform the public is very much needed.
