How many times have I wanted to do exactly this to a car with an insufferable driver/owner?

I'm on a ghost UP-N train. Showed up late to OTC, no sign of a crew. No conductor announcements, the doors just open and close, and the Voice of Metra announcements add to the apocalyptic vibe.

It was a good rainbow, and then it kept getting longer and more vivid, as did the sibling.

UP-N is so dedicated to hauling around useless metal, that this evenings train has the third car back placarded as a Quiet Car, fully acknowledging that the first car will never be used, not even during rush hour.

On yet another UP-N train, hauling empty cars. The car I'm in has at least one butt in every seat, so another car would be appreciated.

It's refreshing when a politician's press release is written like something said by a normal person. It also helps when it's absolutely true, Pete Hegseth is a fucking liar. The only fault I find is he should be tried as a traitor, and not allowed to resign.

I didn't plan on taking a heritage railroad to work today, but here I am, sitting in a classic Pullman coach from the 60's, right behind a Budd coach from the same era.

Some wonderful motivational art recently showed up in my neighborhood.

And because we live in a time beyond anything making sense, Republicans are now defunding police, and embracing electric vehicles.

This describes so many of the Quakers I know. They will decapitate you with the laser beams shot from their eyes, and then check to make sure you're doing okay.
There is an older lib woman with wiry white hair, a beaded multicolor purse, and Birks and she will beat your ass 100% of the time
Someone in the crowd started an anti-trans rant at the Markey town hall and was immediately swarmed by a bunch of older lib women who shouted her down and chased her out, like a bunch of crows chasing away a predator.

Just one lane short of the perfect solution.

Hoping to take advantage of Dorval retiring to bury the news of the departure of another transit employee: it's my last week, and I'm very excited about that.

Some of the worst congestion, you say? If only there was some simple solution to reduce congestion and improve public transit...
Chicago drivers know: Traffic congestion around the area is frustrating.

Roads are so snarled that the city once again ranked among the worst in the nation for the severity of traffic in 2024.

I regularly play an Australian word game. It's usually a fun challenge to remember which words are spelled differently. But then I get a puzzle with the theme, "Sydney Suburbs" and I'm expected to know "Toongabbie" and "Girraween."

Do you have opinions about Metra signage and how easy/hard it is to navigate the system? Metra is interested in getting feedback on the experience of using the system with the intent of using that feedback to continue the improvement of signage across the network: www.surveymonkey.com/r/RW9CZ7C

Why is this framed as under budgeting, and not that the police can't control their spending?
BREAKING: #Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson underbudgets for #police lawsuits as actual spending soars.

"Canceled due to reason of canceled." You really have to appreciate the efficiency of Chicago's 311 App.

I became increasingly uninterested in South Park as it went on, and in retrospect, I think this was a major part of that. The show pivoted away from pointing out stupid shit, and towards bothsidesism. A good reminder, no matter how much you might agree with two white guys, they're still white guys.
I’m reminded of my 2016 interview with Matt and Trey, in which I asked them what distinguished South Park’s humor from Trump’s

Their answer was……. lacking

I don't like it any more than others when someone crams into the same part of a revolving door I'm using. However, the fact that the offending party immediately said "Shit!" and then mumbled apologies made this specific instance a lot funnier.

What sort of sicko intentionally flips their train seat to face the opposite direction of travel?

After several years of increasing costs, and decreasing usefulness, I finally let my Divvy membership lapse. At ~$140/year, I would need to take a lot of rides to justify the cost, and the lack of bikes and open docks makes that very unlikely to happen.

What is going on in Chicago? Downtown is flooded with suburban children wearing cowboy boots.

I really hope the Biden campaign takes this for a few spins in the media machine. Even better if they accompany it with a stat showing felony convictions of criminals named "Donald Trump" are at an all-time high.

It's truly amazing, like pro-athlete level amazing, when someone is so convinced by their own lie that they can't see the obvious flaw in it, even when it is pointed out to them.

Nothing like a very reasonable driver loudly wishing that I die, all because I took the lane on a one-lane residential street, for two blocks.
