The amount of tax-payer money that these same people have handed to greyhound racing in the last few years would pay for this hospice for children with life-limiting conditions. The existence of one is contingent on private charity, the other has it's existence guaranteed by the state. Priorities.

And they are trying to build confidence in screening programmes 🤷🏻‍♀️…If An Post can’t guarantee return, samples should be registered or couriered
#spéirghorm
Every month we get a bunch of big sacks from An Post to put our newspapers in to deliver to the depot to be sent out to subscribers. Not infrequently someone else's post is left in the bottom of a sack or two. Here is this month's haul. 1/

What I think is a newtlet in my dog’s outside bowl this morning. First time Ive spotted one - hopefully safe in the long wet grass now, well away from my curious pup

Very sorry to read this - his warm voice and lovely humour will be missed from Arena - he had a wonderful rapport with contributors to the show.
It is with profound sadness that RTÉ announces the death of radio presenter and actor Seán Rocks. Seán died last night following a brief illness at the age of 63.

Seán is survived by his beloved Catherine and sons Christian and Morgan.

May he rest in peace.

Books and cats. If Id known about this when I visited Vancouver years ago Id have made my way to Seattle
I've found the perfect Instagram account. Seattle's Twice Sold Tales owner Jamie recommends books and shows her cats. That's it.

I went from Florist to Actor to Zoologist as as a young child but never really had a passion. Thought about Catering l. Ended up a Food scientist. Loved some of my jobs but often wish I had studied English and History
Does anyone ever grow up and do the job they wanted to do as a kid

Cork should have had this years ago. We used the river ferry in Copenhagen last year- very little infrastructure required and it was a great way to visit parts of the city Great to have another option for commuters. #spéirghorm
Bloody hell, this would be amazing. I hope it's actually feasible.
Yes, we had to check it wasn't April 1st too! Cork's €80m electric ferry network will connect 17 harbour locations with swish catamarans and room for 1.5m passengers yearly. csalert.ie/3H2Xc3m

Thanks to Finian Murphy for writing this piece in today's Irish Examiner calling on men - especially 'centrist Dads' - to take on the manosphere. Look at all the positive role models out there for our boys.

Centrist dads must get out of comfort zone to combat manosphere
Men must engage with issues like pornography, the imbalance in childcare, the gender pay gap, men’s mental health, and gender-based violence

Can I just add that I really want to see Carrie Crowley play Verona Murphy in 'Game of Dáil Seats' where the entire film is as Gaeilge apart from Murphy's dialogue which is as Béarla but with subtitles as Gaeilge.

Govt running scared there could be more Spicebags out there ready to Blindboy them with a Kneecapping that's all captured in a Rough Magic 'Game of Dáil Seats' theatrical extravaganza thats turned into a fillum As Gaeilge starring Carrie Crowley as Verona Murphy and wins a BAFTA.

It's always a good sign when right wing governments start attacking the arts.
