Mostly tediously twee nonsense. Sporadic enthusing about flamenco dancing and cycling to see Cardiff Bay's sunrises. Occasional passing references to being a weary, aging academic librarian.

Just had my undercut tidied up at the hairdresser's by a different stylist, who was chatting about cutting designs into and dyeing undercuts. NOW I WANT ONE! Look at these... Ooooo...

A radio programme like the Shipping Forecast but it’s called Bin Day and it just reads out every single council in the country’s bin schedule

Academic: Is there any data available on how often these books are accessed by students?

Me: *cackles delightedly and spends an hour compiling borrowing and in-house usage stats across multiple editions of many, many titles*

Been genuinely freaked out by two Hallowe'en costumes today.

The first was a Tesco lady with realistic blood running down her forehead from a bullet wound.

T'other was a kid wearing two cardboard boxes (maybe a robot?) with his grandpa walking behind, who I assumed was imposing a weird punishment.

Waiting for booking to open on a concert I'm really excited to attend, in a venue I know has nice seating. Booking opens. I click, trying to find the seating plan, having already decided roughly where I want to sit.

The concert is standing.

I won't see a thing. And I'll be tired.

I'm not going.

My 81 yr old mother's been having issues with her BT Digital Voice phone for months. She's phoned BT multiple times. They've repeatedly remotely rebooted her router, run speed tests and "done other gobbledygook". They recently sent her a Digital Voice adapter, so I went there today to look at it...

Went to a sale of photography books, for a little (work related 🙄) trip out. Was caught properly sniffing one of the second-hand ones. It was more awkward than you might imagine. Anyway, now own weird-smelling second-hand photography book.

Just seen an Instagram reel from an expensive flamenco event I wanted to attend and there is an ice-breaker where everyone is hugging each other and I am so relieved I couldn't afford to go.

I phoned the garage to discuss car repairs. I deserve a bloody medal.

Very much having one of those feel-as-though-I've-been-at-work-for-a-fortnight sort of days.

Ate out with book club gang*. Didn't fancy the mains. So had two starters and a side as my main. A good call. And the waiter didn't flinch at my request, which made me happy. Would definitely tapas things up again.

So, "touch grass" just means "go outdoors"? I honestly assumed it was something rude to do with dogs wiggling their itchy bottoms on the ground.

If you're on Instagram and are not yet following Werner Herzog, I'd suggest rectifying that. (www.instagram.com/wernerherzog...)

Decades-long towel mystery solved! 💙
They're to stop drips when the towel is very wet - the fabric wicks less there as it's tighter weave. Though I've never got a towel that wet unless there's been an emergency water everywhere type problem so suspect it's a hangover from the days before modern washing machines.
