My second week teaching in 🇳🇿 can be summed it up with one word: joyful.
Intense rigor, scripted curriculum & fidelity to pacing charts seep the joy out of teaching. Yes, my students in the States brought me joy, but in my new school, I'm able to teach with joy. My heart is happy.

It’s the “season of love and giving”…but this year, doesn’t it seem more like a “season of fear and taking”? Like many of you, I’ve been saddened by the human impact of draconian government budget cuts and how angry many housed Americans are at unhoused Americans.
