Crow: "It just tells us everything that we need to know that reminding people to obey the law, reminding people to obey the Constitution, is somehow criminal in Trumpworld and should be responded to with death threats. It's very, very telling."

Home invasions.
Child sex crimes.
Homicide.

Just a couple things that some of the 1500+ January 6 defendants have been convicted of since Trump released them back onto our streets.

The GOP isn't the party of law and order.

They're the party of lawlessness and violence.

Many people don't realise how climate change is already - not in the future - affecting our lives. And it's doing so in ways that, once our eyes are opened, we can notice!

For example, food. h/t @climatecentral.org

As we contemplate the end of the shutdown, consider class issues here. Yesterday, I wrote that Democrats had been holding the line on the shutdown because they calculated that damage done to poor people on SNAP was acceptable to support working class people on the exchanges.

Trump changed the math.

🚨 This vile post is from Children’s Health Defense (CHD), the org founded by our boss, RFK Jr.

CDC staff are named in comments.

We believe this is a credible threat to public health workers and have reported it to the FBI: 1‑800‑CALL‑FBI (tips.fbi.gov), and GBI 770-216-3000. You can report it too.

Imagine the amount of propaganda it took AND IS CURRENTLY TAKING to make you think feminists are against children and baking.

The truth is, said propagandists don't actually love "traditionally feminine" pursuits or value them. They just hate agency.

“While the AI industry claims its models can “think,” “reason,” and “learn,” their supposed achievements rest on marketing hype and stolen intellectual labor. In reality, AI erodes academic freedom, weakens critical reading, and subordinates the pursuit of knowledge to corporate interests.”
AI Is Hollowing Out Higher Education
Olivia Guest & Iris van Rooij urge teachers and scholars to reject tools that commodify learning, deskill students, and promote illiteracy.

Calling LLMs AI has to be one of the greatest marketing “successes” of all time.

People, including ones who run companies, have been hearing the phrase “AI” in pop culture for 60 years.

They hear about AI, assume the product is what the term has always meant, & proceed as though it’s fucking Data.

Increase in productivity since 1979: 87%

Increase in hourly pay since 1979: 32%

Just so happens that ~25% of workers were unionized in 1979. Today? 10%.

As unions declined, the super-rich have taken a larger share of wealth generated by labor. We must build back union power.
