So true, the democratic party needs to get rid of rich donor control of the party and back democratic socialist candidates
If Democrats want to regain working people, they must disavow Big Money.

They must hammer economic populism — and have a laser focus on the cost of living crisis in America.

There’s no way the party can speak for or represent the working class in America if it's beholden to corporate interests.

#Capitalism isn’t #freedom. It’s #coercion dressed as choice.

This graph says it all about wealth inequality today.
Look at this graph.

The share of national income going to the richest 10 percent was lowest (and share to lower 90 percent highest) when union membership was at its highest. As unions have weakened, inequality has widened.

This is why we must build back union power.

It's the rich flooding politics with campaign donations that gives them so much control. We have to get that money out of the electoral system.
I’ve been in or around politics for over a half-century now.

I’ve watched as corporations and the super-rich flooded D.C. with campaign cash and ransacked our system.

It won't be easy, but here’s how we break the oligarchy and return power to the people. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sP0pRIBRcDk

So true, the free market is a total myth
I don't know who needs to hear this, but an economy controlled by a handful of oligarchs isn't a "free market."

Less pay for CEOs and shareholders, higher pay for workers
The explosion in CEO pay relative to the pay of workers isn’t because CEOs have become so much more valuable than before.

They've just gamed the system to line their pockets.

Is it any wonder why so many working people feel the game is rigged against them? (It is.)

Workers should be paid a much higher ratio of wages compared to CEOs and shareholders. 632 to 1 shows how skewed capitalism currently is.
The clearest picture of corporate greed in this country is CEO-to-worker pay ratios.

At the 100 lowest-paying major US companies, CEO pay averaged $17.2M in 2024.

Median worker pay at these companies was just $35,570.

That’s a ratio of 632 to 1.

How can anyone defend this?
August 27, 2025 at 2:35 PM
CEO and shareholder profits are coming from suppressing wages for working class people.
CEO pay is up 1,085% since 1978, while typical worker pay is up just 24%.

Why do we always hear "we can't afford to pay our workers more" but never "we can't afford to pay our CEO more"?

It's this buying up of houses by rich investors that is driving our housing crisis.
Over a quarter of all homes sold in the first three months of 2025 were bought by real estate investors.

If we want to make housing affordable again, we must get Wall Street out of our homes. https://youtu.be/q9TOGxDJ0TE?feature=shared

So true, democratic socialists need to take over from the corporate democrats
Political parties have control over the terms of primary elections.

The DNC has the power to ban Super PAC spending.

If Democrats really want to become the party of working people and fight the forces that brought us Trump, they must disavow Big Money.

I'm not against success. I'm against hoarding money. No billionaires means less lobbying & fewer politicians serving donors instead of people.

And the argument that they will move to countries with lower tax rates? Sure let them live in Russia, Nigeria, Lebanon or El Salvador. Not gonna happen.
Zohran Mamdani says 'I don't think we should have billionaires'
Mamdani, the presumptive Democratic nominee to be the next mayor of New York City and a self-identified democratic socialist, on Sunday said billionaires contribute to inequality.

There is no greater indication of how awful and prevalent misogyny is than how poorly women’s reproductive health is funded and handled. Plastic surgery though, we’ve made leaps and bounds of growth.

Republicans want to cut $1 TRILLION from Medicaid.

That’s millions of seniors, kids, and disabled Americans losing care.

That’s rural hospitals closing.

That’s lives at risk – all to fund tax breaks for billionaires.

Each one of the 104 days he spent detained was a grave injustice.

From the moment of his detention, @ccrjustice.org + @aclu.org engaged my office as we worked closely to help secure his release. They did remarkable work here.
