This was just posted by @tbretc.bsky.social on another platform. The Chicago Sun-Times obviously gets ChatGPT to write a ‘summer reads’ feature almost entirely made up of real authors but completely fake books. What are we coming to?

It’s not just the ignorance but the confidence in writing it out because they know there’s no consequences, and in fact, there’s instead full support, for this lack of knowledge.
a good example of how the world is getting dumber. the new politico playbook writer didn't know who FDR was until a reader told him about that whole "new deal" thing. this newsletter is read by every important person in DC.

Doing Nazi shit ironically is still just doing Nazi shit. This is honestly a silly distinction and only necessary when you start with the conclusion that he can’t hold those beliefs instead of seeing the salute as another expression of his beliefs, along with everything else he has been open about.
