really interesting that the vice president cites as a key intellectual influence a guy who thinks black people are natural slaves
Curtis Yarvin, who has been profiled in media like Politico and The Wall Street Journal, has publicly stated in the past that he thinks black people are naturally fit to be slaves.

This is real police state behaviour.

Harvard obviously needs to seek a preliminary injunction and I’m optimistic they’d get it quickly.

But if that fails, it’s essential for other universities—as many as possible—to offer help in the form of formally enrolling students, and letting them substantively continue at Harvard uninterrupted.
🚨This is a HUGE escalation and a deliberate effort to use the government against Trump's enemies. Weaponizing the Student and Exchange Visitor Program certification against Harvard to punish them for pushing back is a new low — and needlessly punishes thousands of innocent students.
Trump just revoked the ability for foreign students to enroll at Harvard. Every foreign student, which is in the thousands, enrolled for next year at Harvard will not be able to continue studying if this isn't challenged in court.

Today, a group of legal scholars explain how universities are being weaponized against their own members through allegations of “support for” or “alignment with” terrorism.

Universities must prepare for this, and refuse to operate on the basis of fear rather than legal necessity or moral principle.
A Call To Defend Free Speech From Weaponized Allegations of Terrorism Ties
When students, staff, or faculty are accused of being associated or "aligned" with terrorist organizations, universities may be pressed to take immediate and harsh action, if only to quell media…

Disentangling from the US is an urgent priority for the rest of the world. Your stuff—bank accounts, data, revenue streams—is here even if it doesn’t look like it’s here. And increasingly that’s like having your stuff stored in the personal residence of a mob boss.
5/We will face not just an end of US soft power but the reverse. As consumers in Europe recoil from US politics, US brands will be hit. Austerity cuts will be compounded by a depression in demand globally. US firms need to distance themselves or face rocky waters ahead.
