its crazy how dominant germany was in science (especially chemistry) in the 19th century, it was basically the international language for scientists, people came from all over the world to train at heidelberg etc, and then....

I find coming across macrame in real life weirdly comforting nowadays. only created a bit of it myself for hanging plants here n there, mocked it plenty in the 80s as a punk ass youth…only now to truly appreciate the simple, practical, diverse and artistic applications of it. 1/2
