Today I learned that fellow legislators will propose legislation to allow for the unregulated carrying of firearms on public college campuses. Students would not be able to opt out of living with a roommate who stores a gun in their dorm room.

finally, UT-01: state courts seem set to order the use of a new congressional map with Salt Lake City anchoring a deep-blue House seat, and state Sen. Nate Blouin is a standout progressive in a field packed with moderates and one outright conservative, anti-abortion Blue Dog ex-Rep. Ben McAdams

Excited to launch our signature gathering efforts today! No corporate PACs, no AIPAC, just a bunch of Utahns who believe in a more humane foreign policy, cutting red tape for the working class instead of the billionaire class, & giving a voice back everyday people.

If the United States is responsible for the attacks on Venezuela, this is an unconstitutional cover-up of a secret war & of Trump mass murdering Venezuelans.

In that case, impeachment, conviction and removal is not enough. Trump and his enablers must be prosecuted & punished in a New York Nuremberg

We cannot let this happen. Trump is dragging us into another conflict and Congress is enabling him. Stop playing along.
Per reporting- US officials confirm that the United States launched military strikes on Venezuela, these bombings serving as a hideous extension of the regime’s illegal murders at sea.

The President does not have power to wage war. He was already guilty of child sexual abuse & ripping the Constitution to shreds, & now, he’s a mass murderer.

The reason you go scorched-earth on this is the same reason we should have gone scorched-earth on impoundment; you can't stop it from happening, but you absolutely need to stop it from becoming a normal part of politics. You have to draw a line.

The legal justification the WH gave us for attacking Venezuelan boats in int’l waters without Congressional approval was weak, and exposes the WH and military staff to domestic and international criminal prosecution. They have not even sought to justify strikes within Venezuela.

8. This doesn’t happen if Republican Senators don’t confirm every grossly unqualified nominee - RFK Jr., Hegseth, Gabbard, etc. Those Senators knew their spines were being tested in those early days, because if they folded for them, they could be relied on to fold for anything.

Some thoughts on what Trump has done in Venezuela and what it might mean for US national security. Caveat: not a Latin America scholar so this is focused on US policy. Clearly huge consequences for Venezuela that others can address.

First, despite the buildup, I didn't think Trump would do it.
