Canada Post is why we have decent maternity leave in Canada. Never forget that. Solidarity forever.

This is absolutely insane. Our region doesn't have enough money to fund GARBAGE CANS at bus stops but has money to increase the police budget.

We need to get more people out to speak Tues Dec 3, 5:30pm at the Strategic Planning and Budget Input Committee meeting!

Sharing some more thoughts on CUPW (Canada Post) Strike. For one, mainstream reporting has been largely disappointing to see. It's important to show the effect that the strike is having, but it is invaluable to frame the strike in context of the gov't not being responsible to bargain good terms.

The 2018 Canada Post strikes are what introduced me to the labour movement. I had no idea what a labour union was but I thought it was so cool that workers could band together to demand their rights. Years later I would be inspired to unionize my own workplace - Solidarity with CUPW!!

A number of artists and creators have made their home on Bluesky, and we hear their concerns with other platforms training on their data. We do not use any of your content to train generative AI, and have no intention of doing so.

I figure since geoffplaysguitar isn't the composer for DOOM The Dark Ages there's a 50/50 chance that Mick Gordon returns. It'd be sick if Bethesda and Marty Stratton made good with him

Hi everyone.

The Onion, with the help of the Sandy Hook families, has purchased InfoWars.

We are planning on making it a very funny, very stupid website.

We have retained the services of some Onion and Clickhole Hall of Famers to pull this off.

I can't wait to show you what we have cooked up.
The Onion Buys Alex Jones’s Infowars Out of Bankruptcy
The satirical news site planned to turn Infowars into a parody of itself, mocking “weird internet personalities” who peddle conspiracy theories and health supplements.

I’m still impressed that when the city of Kitchener says Vision Zero it’s not just words but actually includes street design changes and targeted improvements at path crossings

Tonight's starter pack focus is hyperlocal: the Waterloo Region/Guelph/Wellington County pack is <50% full. This doesn't have a theme beyond "person who has ties here". I have a few people from other places in SWO so not entirely limited to these 3 areas. Comment/DM requests!

If you are an Ontario Starbucks partner, you should unionize your store! I helped to unionize my location and we're going to begin bargaining our union agreement with the company. I was featured in a blog post from my union:

One thing I always feel sad seeing is Americans blaming third party voters for displeasing election results. I have some faith that the parliamentary system in Canada allows for diverse representation and it would be nice if that could happen down south.
