I did not expect the first (public) demo of Carbon-C++ interop I saw to be on a Commodore 64 emulator at a cppnorth keynote about empathy. Great work @scott.hanselman.com

The only victim in my impromptu weekend de-Azurefication was my Bluesky handle 🙈

Dread it. Run from it. It's always DNS.

I didn't think mobile Safari's insistence on reloading a page until it gives up because it can't keep up with the next page search result would be enough to get me to switch back to Android after four years but...here we are.

Okay it's not the *only* reason, but it's such a baffling recurring issue

Maybe the Firefox ToS changes will amount to nothing, but it’s fun shopping for browsers again like it’s the early 2010s. Can someone revive Camino pls?

I just want to know the backstory to some of the wacky specs up for grabs in Hetzner auctions. I can’t even imagine running an OS off a spinning disk these days.

If library authors want to enforce 'best practices', can they *please* put them in official documentation and remove the 'wrong' ways from the library instead of, I dunno, burying them in old blog posts and leaving a vast free-for-all of an API surface area?

After three days of debugging random reboots, I finally learned that seemingly innocuous HWiNFO updates can bring a Threadripper to its knees like nothing else can. On the plus side, my RAM is fully memtested and all my drives and PCIe devices are reseated and perfectly fine 😪

Well I gotta say, one nice thing about Electron apps is that a broken Firebase auth flow can be as easy to fix as copying over some IndexedDB folders from a working browser session 🙈

Almost done migrating everything from Zotero, FreshRSS, and Linkding to Readwise Reader. All great projects but they were all basically self-hosted tsundoku. At least all my books, feeds, and bookmarks are all in one place now.

Took awhile to realize that a lot of my problems with using the ZSA Voyager full time were probably the stiff Kailh brown switches. Swapped them out for the lightest linear switches in the Choc line and my pinkies thank me 😌

I’m sure CalDAV is finicky to work with, but it’s disheartening when hot new apps only support Google, Outlook dot com, and iCal subscriptions if you’re lucky. At this rate we’ll see JMAP calendar support in popular apps before CalDAV 🙃
