I said it before, will say it again -- generative AI fetishizes "ideas" while sneering at effort, execution, and education. That, despite Gen-AI being built on and out of other people's effort, execution and education.
A.I. and the Fetishization Of Ideas
In writing and in dispensing my (very dubious, probably shady) writing advice, I am often keen to note that ideas are bullshit. Most writers treat them like precious gems when really, ideas are lik…

Techbros seem to love Tolkien, so here's an analogy to help you understand what genAI is.

GenAI is The One Ring. You think your use is justified, b/c you don't have evil in your heart.

But it came from evil, it is intended for evil purpose, & anything you do with it will be twisted to that end.

Last night I read The Captive Princess: Eleanor Fair Maid of Brittany by J.P. Reedman. As a lover of historical fiction I was so drawn in I read the whole thing in one night. I found it really well written and look forward to reading more of the series.

‪It's already been A Week (it's Wednesday), so clearly it's time to bring back one of my favorite things: authors, let me know about a book you either have out now or one that's up for folks to preorder, and I'll repost to boost it! 📚💜

Romantic it is and dark it is too yet to call it a romance would be untrue. Last night I read Where Two Rivers Meet: A Dark Romance Fantasy by Clive Culverhouse. Not really a romance in the classic sense. That said if you like Fae, fairytale horror and poetry you may enjoy this book.

Please do not use the Amazon kindle Ai. 1-It is likely to be inaccurate and 2-There are so many other choices if you want summary/analysis. Other readers, reviewers, booktubers and there are also many authors who would love to talk with you about their books. 💙📚

I recently read The Dance of Rotten Sticks by JC Vande Zande. I found it easy to read but my feelings about it were complex. It is a good book. It's well written and interesting yet it took me over a week to decide if I liked it... in the end I have to say yes I really liked the book.

When a debate devolves in to re-defining words you are no longer debating a subject you are debating reality. Words matter, they have meaning and are fundamental to our understanding of our world and each other.
