Pentagon demands journalists pledge to not obtain unauthorized material

GeoSpy AI attempted to do a geolocation in the occupied West Bank in Palestine. However, nothing beats the human eye, as @annonemo.bsky.social showed that the correct location was actually 19.6 km from what the AI and it’s founder claimed it was: 32.113212, 35.133272.

one major takeaway I've gotten from covering ICE here in Evanston, IL is that the paranoia runs very, very young. elementary schoolers as young as 9 have been keeping tabs on immigration activity. one of the first reports of Halloween-day activity at Asbury & Oakton came from a 6th grader.

Dear headline writers: why do you hate reporters and columnists so much? Are you jealous of their ability to write complete sentences? Is that why you anonymously twist their words into ragebait and direct all that online anger at the person in the byline?

Little did they know, live video from campus CCTVs were being fed straight to DHS.
It's part of a little-known, decades-long surveillance effort built on the back of college football.

In late September, my family and I lost our matriarch, my abuela. I've been a bit all over the place since. My abuela moved to our hometown in the 70s. She loved it even as one of the first Mexican families there.
It's been targeted every day by ICE. I wrote about it.

fateh's loss is, as far as i can tell, the only major loss of ED. it must be noted. fateh had a strong coalition and major support from the left; establishment endorsements didn't do as much for frey as he hoped. so what made frey win?
principally: antiblackness. anti-somali racism. islamophobia.

To be asked to write about racism only to be racially aggressed in the editing process is a new level unlocked I have to say.
