Jane Mayer makes a great point that Trump has made so much $ off his recent grift, he no longer needs Musk. So corrupt. Truly curious why this corruption is not a bigger deal for voters.

Nope, @nytimes.com I cannot stomach the VP on The Daily this am. Too full of rage and dread over blowing up the deficit and defunding effective funding to give to the ultra-wealthy. I hope you held his feet to the fire, but even if you did, I just can’t listen to his unpatriotic word vomit. 🤮

If everyone received the vaccine at 10 yo, it would prevent HPV in the entire population.

Eventually no one would carry the virus & it could not be spread to others

Side Benefit is reduction in cases of both #Cervical and #Penile cancers.

Whenever you hear conservative politicians preach from the gospel of "fiscal responsibility," remember that one of the biggest drivers of deficits lately are the Bush and Trump tax cuts, which have added nearly $10 trillion to the national debt.

No child has to die of measles. We have actively and collectively decided to let children die rather than prevent a vaccine-preventable disease. We are stupid, and our children pay the price.
Interrupting this lovely Mother’s Day to scream into the void….NO ONE SHOULD DIE FROM MEASLES. Especially children should not die from measles.

Amazing to watch the understandable hubris of Anthony Bourdain’s first episode of Parts Unknown in Myanmar. I watched the other day, and the discussion about possible democracy taking hold in Myanmar was from the perspective of the presumed “fact” that our democracy was not fragile. Gutting.

1/ For ProPublica’s “Life of the Mother” series, winner of the 2025 Pulitzer Prize for public service, we reported on five pregnant women who died after not receiving timely medical care in states with strict abortion bans.

These are their stories 🧵

Who among us could cope with all of this and a minimal level of support? Not me.
8/ “The Year After a Denied Abortion" also documented the unraveling of a Tennessee family after a denied abortion for a life-threatening pregnancy.

This photo essay helped audiences see, feel and understand how decisions made by those in power impact families.

Tennessee law prohibits women from having abortions in nearly all circumstances. But once the babies are here, the state provides little help. We followed one family as they struggled to make it.

Good morning.

Today is the 80th day that the U.S. President is running a backdoor bribery scheme in which any CEO or foreign oligarch can send him money secretly through his crypto coin scam in exchange for favors.

It's the biggest scandal in the history of the Presidency.

It IS a defining feature. Lots of numb folks walking around looking for new ways to numb them selves. My numbing drug of choice is work for sure.
I wrote about this a bit in my last book but it really shakes me that a defining feature of this catastrophic era is that we just keep going to work. We work through pandemics, we work through natural disasters, we work through economic calamity, we work through coups, we work, we work, we work.
