If the tech bros convince the managers that AI can reduce the workload, it doesn’t really matter if it actually works. Managers will buy it, push it on employees, and those who fail to double their productivity will be sacked for technological incompetence. The rest will work weekends and holidays.

And cutting subsidies for heat pumps because “middle-class households can afford them”??? Who can afford to replace a £1500 gas boiler with a £10k heat pump? 🤷♀️ Maybe they should consider cutting the £17.5bn annual subsidies to fossil fuel companies instead?
This is the equivalent of scrabbling down the back of the sofa in the hope of retrieving a few pennies. We need better public services and a greener economy. We can afford that with a fair tax system. I’m sick of permanent managed decline.
