One darkly amusing aspect of the politics of the last decade is that Trump has very clearly & explicitly formed a coalition of the nation's dumbest, most ignorant, most racist & sexist voters -- there's *overwhelming* empirical evidence at this point -- but we're not allowed to say that out loud.

The thing you have to understand about MAHA is that even along the health vectors they claim to care about, like environmental toxins, they still don’t want scientific research because hard data interferes with their actual #1 desideratum: being able to just make things up at their convenience.
Why, yes, we are indeed on the timeline where we can’t agree as a society that we should study the risks of toxic environmental chemicals.

Thanks for playing this version of American Dystopia.

The position of the democratic party should be "you can return him now, or we will come get him when we are back in power, and drop you off at the Hague on the flight home."
Nayib Bukele is an enemy to the liberties of Americans and has behaved with contempt toward our laws and our courts. For as long as he lives, patriotic Americans should remember that about him -- and about his patron in the White House.

I can't get over the fact that "voters who are educated & attuned to current events vote for Dems" has become one of the central *critiques* of the Dem Party.
Another massive shift Democrats saw in 2024 is that people who don't follow the news closely went from being slightly left in 2020 to voting for Trump by double digits.

On the flipside, Democrats actually increased their margins with high-information voters from 2020.

One political force that I've underestimated again & again is just how much collective fury is produced by asking people to be better.

You almost have to tip your cap to that one, I mean, LOL, they are really pushing the frontiers of "some people will believe anything they see on a screen if it's presented as something 'the media' won't tell you." Anyway, here's what the big picture is, I think
