A pretty consistent theme that is emerging in this period is that regular people are prepared to risk what they have to stop fascism while the most protected, wealthy and powerful people are willing to risk nothing at all.
Mark Zuckerberg and President Trump met at Mar-A-Lago. Statement from meta:

“It’s an important time for the future of American Innovation. Mark was grateful for the invitation to join President Trump for dinner and the opportunity to meet with members of his team about the incoming Administration”

This thread contains YEARS worth of advice that many of us have had to learn through trial and error. Please read.
Let's talk about how to report on right-wingers without amplifying their hateful rhetoric. Far-right extremists count on YOU to spread their messages for them. Here's a thread of resources.

I’ve checked through them and most violate TOS, all are worth a bIock. Beware of the “parody” accounts pretending to be libs. Report content when possible.

This is not Israel’s “right to defend itself.” It is the wanton destruction of Palestinian life & property in a punitive genocidal war. Tens of thousands dead, over 100,000 wounded, 87% of homes laid waste, 90% forced to flee, & widespread malnutrition & disease.

Analysis: The Limits of a Tragic Story
Savita Halappanavar's death is widely seen as a catalyst for Ireland's abortion reform, but the truth is more nuanced—and offers important lessons for the U.S.

What Biden must & still can do to save some Palestinian lives in Gaza. Unfortunately he won’t. And Trump will only let the Israelis “finish the job.” This is genocide & we will be judged as complicit. My heart aches for Gaza foreignpolicy.com/2024/11/13/g...

If you’re having a debate inside the Democratic Party about the role of pressure groups & special interests in determining your agenda, & making you take unpopular positions that cost you swing states, & you’re not mentioning AIPAC then you’re not actually having a real debate.

I’m on the DNC for 32 yrs: 16 on the Executive Committee, 11 as chair of the resolutions committee, & on the Unity/Reform Committee. I’m pushing for budget transparency & accountability, & party democracy.
But I guess all I’ll ever be is that “pro-Palestinian” guy. It’s bigotry

I remember Howard Dean and Hillary Clinton agreeing in 2006 that "nobody is pro-abortion"
Woke up this morning remembering how, after Kerry's 2004 loss to W, the Democratic party and the press decided it was abortion's fault. When I tell you that this is not an exaggerated memory:

It was also Ladapo's office that threatened TV stations over pro-abortion advertisements. This is the man who would invoke Comstock to try and ban abortion nationwide.
Politico is reporting Trump will name Dr. Ladapo of Florida to a senior spot, likely Surgeon General or Assistant HHS.

This would be a horrifying pick for trans people. He's responsible for Florida's adult trans ban, and works with SEGM/Anti-trans global movement.

He's also an ardent anti-vaxxer.

I see 3% militia, Oath Keeper, white nationalist, and "molon labe"/punisher iconography EVERY SINGLE DAY on my daily rounds in my town of Salem, Oregon. FFS, I saw a dude with a swastika tattoo on his arm that was just casually hanging out his car window last year. Car also had a valknut decal.

Despite Biden’s promise to protect old forests, his administration keeps approving plans to cut them down
In Oregon’s Coast Range, mature forests can absorb more carbon per acre than almost any other on the planet. Yet logging here continues at a steady pace, putting the environment at risk.

To the #Democratic Party,

So far it appears only men are running for #DNC chair. Why? How about having co-chairs instead? You know, like 1 woman & 1 man (but not former #Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel), and not both being white.

Signed, a lifelong #Democrat #voter
