I hate that negativity gets all the amplification by social media algorithms.

Let’s amplify LOVE instead.

I am beaming love at you. Right now.

Fuck the haters. I defy you. I am beaming extra love right into your face. Relax and be loved.

Stopped to watch the Canada geese picking over a just-shorn cornfield this morning. The last of the leaves are lingering on the apple trees in the background, but with the wind storms we’ve been having they won’t last much longer. Autumn has been glorious this year.

Sharing this yet again. I appreciate the kindness and support. Mom is still dealing with her post surgery issues. I’m trying to keep us both afloat and hard when I’m disabled.
I hate doing this online but I’m in a tough position. Me and my mother are both disabled and currently homeless, living out of a cheap hotel until we can get back on our feet. Staying here has eaten up all my savings. If you’d like to help, my PayPal is @ josmeeks. Anything is appreciated.

For those of us who are disabled or prohibited from protesting for any reason, here are ways we can help.

I can’t take a service dog to a protest, it’s unsafe for him but also for others around us.

I can do some of these.
Here are some tips for ways to “show up” when you aren’t able to show up in person, as well as suggestions for all of us for building more inclusive movements for social justice and human rights.

Need to keep witches out of your house? People used to bake witch cakes to hang behind their doors.

I made a number of them for my book A Feast of Folklore about Britain's weird food lore. But it here: uk.bookshop.org/p/books/a-fe...

The lightning bugs have arrived early in West Central Georgia! They're still high in the trees but as long as this weather keeps, they'll be on the ground soon & dancing their mating dance soon. Soon we'll be hearing chuck wills widows calling (similar to whipoorwills).
I'm so excited!

We’re wading into a nice Taurus moon now, through all of Tuesday, and it’s a great time to plant cold-hardy crops if your ground is workable. Taurus moons are excellent for root crops and okay for above ground food & flowers. I’ve got onion and lettuce seeds going in! #GardenSky #GardenWitch

March arrives with an early warmth that almost instantly greens the land. I am feverishly hoping for stone fruit this summer after our valley lost all its crops last year due to late freezes. Nothing is foreseeable anymore, but there is sunshine and birdsong and a fresh month to wade into.

Going through your parents things after they pass is never easy. Parting with treasures is slightly easier if they have good homes to go to. If you love a good antique, please check out my friend’s auction:
The House of Beautiful Things has reached its natural end and we are having a no-reserve auction online. It runs until next Sunday. So many precious and rare things that I just don't have room to keep, so am passing on to...you? #antiques #auction #toys #preciousObjects maxsold.com/auction/9533...

If you are serious about resisting American fascism, imperialism, colonialism, all the isms... think about also resisting the Canadian versions of the very same thing, at home and abroad. Lots of yous already do this, and that's great! Just don't fall into the nationalist trap that's taking hold.

It's not too late to start caring about disabled people.

Everyone will become disabled, if they're lucky (old age is disabling).

You personally know *many* disabled people. 1 in 4 adults in the US is disabled (source: adata.org )

It's not too late to start caring & acting from that place of care.

Popped over to our village grocery store for supplies. The Canadian potato chip brands are sold out, while the US brands sit untouched. Locals were pointing out the Canadian brands on the shelves and sharing alternatives to US products. We aren’t forgetting the tariffs threat anytime soon.
