It’s not like someone snuck in and killed Bond at the end of the last movie. There were literally years of development, production, and post where “how do we keep the franchise going if we do this?” was discussed. There were options.

James Bond’s death in No Time to Die is causing a nightmare for the next film. Writers are stuck because Bond “was blown to pieces.”

This is fantastic and we should all just be able to enjoy stuff like this without worrying about health insurance premiums or masked Gestapo in our cities or whether our plane will crash because of Sean from The Real World.

The split in the Democratic Party is between incrementalists who saw the shutdown as a way to pressure the GOP to negotiate and existentialists who understand the GOP is a broken party that has no interest in negotiating—that the shutdown was/is their only leverage to force the GOP to govern.

Yeah, the people who plastered “the shutdown is the Democrats’ fault” on every government website are eager to dig into some good faith negotiations next month.

Trump knows his followers live vicariously through him, but his lifestyle porn goes down easier when he’s coasting on his predecessor’s economy.
When he’s driven up prices and wrecked the safety net, I’m not sure people are so excited about his new bathroom or his name on a football stadium.

This is so embarrassing, man. The six most influential Republicans in the country with the unreviewable power to make the law whatever they want, patting each other on the back for their courage. Butter-soft.
