#JeffreyEpstein docs released during Xmas-NYE lull are damaging- but media is too lazy to care.

♦️WaPo: "Nothing so far challenges a ruling that he died by suicide."
♦️Documents: He was housed with a quadruple murderer, whom he accused of trying to kill him.

Files offer details on Epstein’s death in federal custody
Among the Epstein files are records on his death in New York’s Metropolitan Correctional Center, but nothing so far challenges a ruling that he died by suicide.

Did #JeffreyEpstein die by suicide or murder? 6/6

Epstein's death was VERY convenient for many powerful men, and having somebody killed in prison is quite easy for anybody willing to pay for it.

Did that happen?
It's a VERY reasonable question.
And #journalists need to start treating it that way.

The response to this feels somewhat akin to the response to Hillbilly Elegy— that certain liberals must read it and praise it so that they can properly and publicly perform humility to atone for their eliteness. This is despite both of these books being written by Ivy Leaguers.

A small (personal) example of this book’s intellectual dishonesty:

My father-in-law is reading In Covid’s Wake, and excitedly told me he found a passage where I’m quoted. The quote in question is me saying the FBI worked to censor speech on social media.

Huh? When did I say that?!

In prelim ratings, the Trump-hosted Kennedy Center Honors was viewed by 2.65M
In the third quarter, Stephen Colbert's Late Show averaged 2.84M

But it's not really fair to compare the numbers because Trump's hosting gig aired in primetime with a much larger audience.

So, DOJ has been sitting on over a MILLION pages of #JeffreyEpstein documents-- above and beyond everything already released.

Yet only two people have ever been prosecuted. For anything.

Congress needs to call EVERY Attorney-General for the past two decades to testify. On live TV.
The Justice Department said it found over a million more pages of Jeffrey Epstein documents, extending the time it will take for a full release. A law passed by Congress gave the department a deadline of last Friday to release the files. nyti.ms/49rG0QL
A Million More Epstein Documents Have Been Found, Justice Dept. Says
Democratic lawmakers, who had criticized the Justice Department’s release of the material, accused the Trump administration of violating the law mandating the release of the files.

The gall of this opportunistic shill. Unearned self-confidence is truly a disease.
Bari Weiss just sent this Christmas Eve email to the CBS News staff about "building trust," which includes her tripling down on spiking the CECOT piece "to make sure it's comprehensive and fair."

One CBS staffer tells me: "She really has no idea how insulting she comes across."

You Better Wise Up, Bari Weiss

CBS News has become a horror show, caught in a time warp back to Soviet-style state propaganda. They’ve even lost Susan Sarandon.

Remember how the White House claimed it was only occupying DC for a month? And the press just went along with that?

As any DC resident can tell you, that was always a lie.
Here's some proof:

The Post has gathered more than 5,000 arrest reports filed in D.C. Superior Court since Trump’s crackdown began with a 30-day federal takeover of D.C. police.

1. I just got a DM asking me how Nick Fuentes makes millions every year, here’s how.

— Super chats during his show. Fans send him anywhere from $1 to $1,000 with a question or a comment during the show.

He only reads and responds to the ones $20 and over.

Of the ones $20 and over, he makes…
I mean this is silly and discounts his influence which I think is a mistake given his ideology.

Plus Nick Fuentes makes millions of dollars a year, so I don’t see what his house has to do with it.
Counterpoint: influential men with legions of sycophants usually don’t live in run-down apartments in Berwyn, IL.

♦️Both Rupert Murdoch and the Ellisons are right-wing zillionaires. But Rupert isn't willing to let Trump (completely) dominate him.
Even 5 years ago if you had told me CBS News would go this way whereas the WSJ wouldn’t it would have surprised me — ultimately I think purveyors of business news are the only ones insulated from these dynamics because when rich people are paying you for market-moving news you can’t mess around.

Two problems with this frantic "The story wasn't ready" statement are 1) When a story isn't ready, you know it days, sometimes weeks in advance, not hours and 2) Bari Weiss' idea of how "to do more" has already been made public, and it was to call Stephen Miller. In short, she's lying.
NEW: Bari Weiss addresses her decision to hold last night's CECOT story on the CBS News morning editorial call: "Our viewers come first, not a listing schedule or anything else..."

To everyone following the Bari Weiss story and struggling with the question of whether this is rank incompetence or malignity: Doesn't matter, because rank incompetence plus arrogance IS malignity, so even if you give her the benefit of the doubt (btw, there's no reason to), that's where you end up.
