Some folks talk down their characters to me as "Just a grizzly" etc. Honestly I loved working with characters like that! Many animal artists long to be paid to draw wildlife with charm! 🐻🌲 So shout out to the people with simple, naturalistic designs. I dig ya ;) #Oldbearcomics #TheBearMinimum

It has broad appeal to many" Holly bear continues saying: "Often people try to make their character designs represent them exactly, or strive for maximum 'originality'. While those differences can be fun to draw, the design will appeal mostly to the commissioner & a handful of others." Holly bear holds up two refs, one belonging to the black dog, the other a hyper complicated sparkledog design. She finishes saying: "Your character's 'simplicity' transcends that and I love it!" the black dog looks reassured and pleased by the compliment.
