every new ai thing is just advertising products to people who hate real human interactions or anything made by someone who’s alive
this is Senator Send In The Troops talking, so it’s not surprising, but just take a minute to sit with the utter inhumanity of “they were trying not to drown because we blew up their boat, and that was a hostile act worthy of blowing them up a second time”
Cotton: "I saw two survivors trying to flip a boat -- loaded with drugs, bound for the United States -- back over, so they could stay in the fight."

i’m genuinely so convinced all of this has been a planned operation by the student and her mother (who is commenting on this publicly, and associated closely with the republican party), and big far right propaganda account going all in on it. this is designed to oust trans people from public life

No bailouts. The US should extort these companies when the crash happens so they get minimal compensation in return for nationalizing the entire panopticon industry and then destroying it once harvested for socially useful parts. It won’t happen but it should

If I could sacrifice one sub-profession to generative AI to protect all others, it would be consumer trends reporting. It’s already basically madlibs. “Gen Z’s agoraphobia spells trouble for the hot air balloon industry” that’s great Gemini, everyone is very impressed.
stupid young people, stop buying a new phone every year if you don't want to be broke. wait no, not like that.

Not sayin anything new here but it’s fucked up how incredible Ghibli movies look. Watching Kiki’s and every scene is a masterpiece, they could be silent films and work just fine.

Detroit gets scoffed at in the game journo sphere, and it earns that derision in some ways. But there’s a big audience for low-difficulty narrative choice games, and I continue to be surprised we don’t see more of them.
I'm very impressed with Detroit: Become Human. I like the structure and the storylines are so interesting. The gameplay is less hard than I was afraid of. I feel scanning and searching are hard at times. But if possible I play almost every day just because I'm so eager to see where this game goes. 🎮

AI evangelist I was talking to earlier was very excited about this new AI tech that’s apparently going to replace card grading. You have to rememeber that AI guys are about 5% different than NFT guys, who were 5% different than sports card guys, who are the same as adult Pokemon card collectors.

Kinda crazy that Geoff Keighley managed to make the Game Awards a huge thing. Apparently 150 million people watched last year? I think it’s a bad show in some ways, a lot of the categories don’t make sense and it’s way too long, but you kinda can’t deny that it’s the Vidya Oscars at this point.

Thunder have a shot at the wins record, they really do. Shai’s a top 3 player, Chet and Jdub are bordering on top 15, and they’ve got a million top 100 guys. In minutes that matter I don’t think they play a single below average player. Clippers let this happen and are receiving karmic justice.

Astonishing to me that Google’s AI tool just continues to parrot this debunked information it ingested in April even though it has months of hard facts it could pull from that would correct this. Do they just never update their dataset? What a garbage tool man.

you could fact check this — there aren’t 30 million illegal immigrants and there is no evidence that the presence of an immigrant in say houston has any impact on housing in madison, wisconsin — or you could note straightforwardly that this is just nazi rhetoric
JD Vance: "A lot of young people are saying housing is way too expensive. Why is that? Because we flooded the country with 30 million illegal immigrants who were taking houses that ought by right go to American citizens."

pretty funny in retrospect that QAnon hinged on the idea that powerful elites at the highest levels of government were smart enough to talk in code when sending emails to each other about their despicable crimes

Love the form factor, and I am interested in something like this for my living room, but this thing kinda needs to be cheap with those specs. It’s less powerful than a ps5.

agreeing to make a terrible deal while your main opponent is quite literally being boo'd on live tv by an entire stadium of people is the kind of political instinct you'd normally only find in a 3 week old dead goldfish
