Facing an intellectual dilemma here. I regard my children as human even though they’re not white. Who will challenge that in this echo chamber? The proposition will be completely untested here. Discourse will suffer. What can I do? I can’t afford to go to Penn Law.

Are the Plymouth Santander sailings also cancelled at the same time?

Hopefully it'll return as it was the original crossing for the company...

This is exactly right. Trump’s big advantage is that he’s playing tic-tac-toe without a pencil but somehow convinces people he’s multiverse time-travel chess.
There’s a narrative that Gaetz was a deliberate head-fake — a distraction to boost the real candidate — but I am always suspicious of narratives that attribute four-dimensional chess to trump as opposed to knocking over the table and eating the checkers.

I once had a coworker at Archie tell me I was “one of the good ones” and it was one of those things where I think I was legit in shell shock at the audacity of the comment in general because of how casually/jocularly it was said.

Looking back at the person who said it, it makes a lot of sense now
I have never been more miserable than when I was trying to be the bigger person. The best case scenario there is that the bigot sees you as 'one of the good ones', a phrase corrosive to my soul.

Awhile ago I came across the concept of the "art kettle," where activism and resistance is contained within creative industries where it's actual impact on power is null, the same way police contain street protesters by "kettling" them with tear gas. See also: academia, nonprofits, social media
i wonder if the sheer size of the US — and the reality of its fractured, polluted media ecosystem — means that some of the most heavy-handed aspects of authoritarian politics might not be necessary. Like, who cares what journalists have to say? No one listens to them anyway.

Here's a humbling thing that has happened to me a few times over the years: I try to write an opinion piece or argumentative take. For some reason, I can't crack it. I do draft after draft. Something isn't working. I don't know what.

Then, finally, I figure it out.

My opinion is wrong.
