From 1980-2002 THREE storms acheived extreme rapid intensification.
From 2003-2025 EIGHTEEN storms achieved extreme rapid intensification.
6X increase!
It’s not coincidence, it’s climate change!

Elon moves $133 million in crypto from SpaceX, and Trump accepts a $130 million donation. Hmmm… is Elon buying his spot back? Probably just an odd coincidence.

Why are prominent Democratic politicians, celebrities, etc hosting a tour of Portland? When he says stupid stuff, we have to actively demonstrate that he is a fool, instead of just assuming everyone knows
Trump: "I don't know what could be worse than Portland. You don't even have stores anymore. They don't even put glass up. They put plywood on their windows."

this is why leftists dismissing 50501 and such as a bunch of useless libs is so unserious. 50501 is mustering protests across the country without a major provocation. it's a dress rehearsal and we're really fucking rusty.
I keep going back to this, but one of the reasons South Korea has an incredibly effective protest culture is because they have *decades* of organizational experience through daily/weekly protesting. it helps a lot to do the routine stuff to be able to pull off the big stuff.
Why doesn't the US have a general strike? Well you can point to culture or whatever but I think structure is of not immediate use here: does the US have organizations and institutions it can use to network, organize and mobilize a general strike? No.

Again, an issue, but not the salient one. Scientific language has to be precise & will inevitably use terms & jargon that aren’t familiar to most - true in any technical area. Popularization is a real craft & one that should be more widespread & we should focus on improving the incentives for that.

In a UN speech today, President Trump said that "all of these [climate] predictions were wrong".

Back in 2019 I led a research effort to digitize old climate model projections and assess how well they did. Turns out they got future warming pretty spot on!
