Tesla shareholders approved Elon Musk's $1 trillion pay package.

Meanwhile, millions of Americans live paycheck to paycheck, can't afford to feed their families, and struggle with cuts to the safety net made to finance tax cuts for the super-rich.

American capitalism is off the rails.

That's insane. I mean everyone knows that's insane – right?
With this budget, ICE alone would have nearly as large a detention operation as all 50 states' prison systems combined. Bigger budget than the Marine Corps. Police-state levels of spending
If the GOP reconciliation bill passes, ICE gets through FY2029:

- $45 billion for detention, on top of the current annual budget of $3.4 billion
- $14.4 billion for transportation and removal, on top of the current annual budget of $750 million
- $8 billion for hiring/retention
- Billions more.

In effect, the Supreme Court ruled that only it could decide issues on a national level. And then, with thousands and thousands of people waiting in limbo for resolution of many legally disputed Trump orders, the justices went on summer vacation, not to return until October.

If Democrats ever retake the government they will need to figure out how to course correct a corrupt Supreme Court. The Constitution's words are clear enough; but the court's been packed by Federalists who've reinterpreted them to mean the opposite.

For those joining BlueSky to escape Facebook, this is important to keep in mind. When you post or comment, you're not just sharing with a curated list of friends you trust with your candor.
Every person on Bluesky should know:
