Could it be something he said? Jeremy Clarkson has an estimated net worth of £59 million - imagine the horror of paying a 1% wealth tax on the value of his assets. How would the poor man survive?

"All of this falls apart if humans don't adopt the tech. This is why you've seen Meta cram its lame chatbots into WhatsApp and Instagram. This is why Notepad and Paint now have useless Copilot buttons on Windows. This is why Google Gemini wants to "help you" read and reply to your emails."
Analysis: OpenAI is a loss-making machine, how can it survive?
Don't call it a bubble! Loss-making monster OpenAI is on the hook for $1.4 trillion (with a T) in compute commitments. How can this go on?

Huge respect to the papers for finding both an 88 year old worried about the tax bill on her 6 bedroom Kensington house and a 20 year old fretting about only being able to save £12k a year tax free.
Top work all around. These are not easy case studies to find.

Andy Verity is one of the few people at the BBC who tries to report economics accurately. He regularly reminds viewers that govt finances are not like a household budget and he doesn’t constantly parrot the ‘maxed out the credit card’, ‘magic money tree’ bs. Fair play to him.

This is a complete disgrace. The BBC is running scared of Trump - a man who has multiple fraud convictions and has been found by a court to have committed rape.

Our national broadcaster cannot be censoring its output at the behest of a career criminal.
I wish I didn’t have to share this. But the BBC has decided to censor my first Reith Lecture.

They deleted the line in which I describe Donald Trump as “the most openly corrupt president in American history.” /1
