A new Blue sky home for my thoughts.
He/him/they/them
Antifa is only controversial for fascists and their allies.
The Stan side of the Internet is not real life.
It won't matter if you voted for him, donated to him, made public appearances for him, whatever. Your rights are 100% at risk. Even if you're white, because assholes like Trump and his ilk will find a reason to eliminate you if they feel you are no longer useful for them.
That's how evil works

You know what I'd really want to come through in our political system in America?
Humanity.
Caring.
Restorative justice.
Mutual benefit.
Togetherness and community.
All of those things are apparently not what the political class want, because...??
It's the inverse of what a democracy should be.

"Removing improper ideology" doesn't sound at all Soviet or Orwellian.

It's exactly the sort of thing a country with "a history of liberty" (as this EO says elsewhere) would do to celebrate the freedoms that have made it great.

This may be official policy but I wouldn't be surprised if it was some goon freelancing either. Agents of the state have gotten the message that they can abuse their powers with impunity as long as they target the right people. bsky.app/profile/donm...
If you are visiting the United States, having a negative view of Trump is enough to get you denied entry.
If this was coming out of Russia or China, we would deplore such an authoritarian attack on freedom of expression.

Good things that we need more of and don't have enough of:
Green spaces in cities.
Grace for men expressing their emotions other than anger.
Acceptance of differences.
Accommodations for people who need them.
Mutual benefits in negotiating.
Local amateur athletic competitions for fun.

I come up with so many ideas for this. But I also might be releasing music this year so maybe I'll hold on sharing mine just yet...

Not sure how hot of a take this is, but here it goes:
Marshmallow Mateys are better than Lucky Charms.

I know that we're in a low-trust environment, in media and politics especially but honestly in general.
The systems we have had in place to correct mis- or disinformation weren't perfect and the media was invested in one side over any other, but it at least mitigated this kind of reaction!
Thread:
people are getting weirdly downright gleeful about the potential for air disasters. you get that regular people die right? regular people going to visit their families, going to work, going on a trip. why are you posting a glib little gif about it! why is everyone a maniac now!

The fact this blatant corruption isn't that unusual in Washington, and hasn't been for a while now, is incredibly damning.
The fact that neither party is doing anything to even start rooting it out only adds to it.
This is what empires in decline are about. The richest cashing out as the ship sinks.

This is gamergate shit.
It's the same playbook pioneered a decade ago in that vile movement.
It's an attempt to make anyone who even dares question these people's authority and power deal with so much harassment on a daily basis that they shut up and intimidate away any prospective threats.
Musk has sicced his followers on the WSJ writer who reported on a DOGE staffer’s racist online, history demanding her firing. This is a tactic Silicon Valley’s neoreactionaries have been advocating for years: Pick a reporter, dox and harrass, make an example of them, make everyone else afraid.

Most of the big destructive moves that Trump and Elon have made only relate to what they personally care about. Elon hates USAID bc they fought apartheid, and Labor bc his workers are unionizing. Trump loves fancy parties and renaming things. And they hate DEI bc they’re racist. Pretty simple shit!
I’m sorry but this one honestly just cracked me the fuck up

The loudest voice against DEI is a WHITE SOUTH AFRICAN BILLIONAIRE who despises post-apartheid reforms and calls them “RACISM.” A guy who grew up under apartheid is now using his wealth to dismantle civil rights in the U.S. Like… what are we even doing?

"This much money and power together can't possibly be wrong"
Bruh, have you not seen the USA? That much money and power is very often wrong. It's consistently making mind-bogglingly stupid decisions and obvious mistakes.
But as long as everyone else is made to pay the price, they'll keep doing it.

they do not seem to think that civil society is real and their mental model of the world holds that people are drones who will do what they’re told
why is Elon Musk obsessed with gaining access directly to the systems which approve Treasury payments? and why are they trying so hard to shutter USAID? it's because they think it's the machine that pays the protesters, and they're trying to turn it off.

It will always amaze/sicken me that getting called a racist is so much more offensive for so many white people than the actual racism.
Liberals, progressives, conservatives, MAGA types, they all don't want to be called a racist so much more than they want to end racism.

I thought the line about refusing to advertise on the platform that would put your ads next to Nazi shit was, quoting the man himself, "go fuck yourself" and that Twitter could survive without them?
This manchild shouldn't be in charge of anything.
