SARS2 infects via ACE2 receptors, which are expressed by almost every organ. It needs to infect your nose, lungs like a cold or flu. But wandering into other organs can damage them, UNLIKE most cold viruses (which only use respiratory-cell receptors)

CNN: The ratings are in for the first day. 6.26 million viewers on ABC. That was four times Jimmy Kimmel's average. And that's despite the show not even being available in a quarter of all American homes.

@adamscochran: 1/11 One thing that stands out to me about this shooting, was how odd it was to have a single-shot fired from a high-powered rifle. Thinking back over history, that's not something we s...

Just to point out three weeks ago the special agent in charge of Salt Lake City Utah office FBI was fired.

She was a career counter intelligence professional for years. Worked on high profile cases. Being a woman and minority cast her out. Sad

The only difference between the President of the United States and this guy, is that one of them is spending a little time (not nearly enough) in jail.

Can you imagine the nightmare his victim had to endure for almost half her life? They should set this guy on fire.

Pope Francis died at 88, the Vatican announced Monday, ending a pontificate that sought to reshape the Roman Catholic Church into a more inclusive institution. Cardinals will now decide whether to continue his approach or restore more doctrinaire leadership.

Yes — This!
I'm not religious, but regardless of the institution it's inarguable that as far as things went Francis was far, far better than those that came before him. We can only hope his successor follows in his footsteps.

RIP Pope Francis. Obviously, a lot of problems with the Church still remain, but he did feel like one of the few global leaders left still trying to contribute some good to the world rather than ransack it.

in the american system, the president may represent a national electorate but this does not imbue him with anything other than rhetorical power. he must still negotiate with congress, which represents particular constituencies, and heed the courts, who determine what the law is.
