I am Antifa through and through. I wish my taxes went toward kids getting a hot lunch rather than supporting genocide in Gaza. I have some ideas about thwarting ICE but everyone involved would almost certainly be arrested.
Proud AF of being woke AF.

I want to be very clear about something: I am AntiFa. Way down in the marrow of my bones, I am Antifa. I have always been, and I will always be, AntiFa. There is no force in nature that could sway me from being AntiFa.

To be AntiFa in the US is to be a patriot. I am a patriot. I am AntiFa.

Pretty sure despite Russia's protests, the whole point of the Witkoff and Kushner's "peace" talks was to tell Putin we'd take Venezuela and cut off aid to Ukraine.

In response to people who (rightfully) moaned ten months ago about how bad things were, I said over and over and over, "THIS is the best things will ever be. Things only get worse from here."

I'll say it again, now:
THIS is the best things will ever be.
Things only get worse from here.

Worse than that, he's a toddler with the nation-state equivalent of a gun. He's not just embarrassing he's beyond dangerous. He's going to destabilize the entire planet. He's already killing millions by dismantling USAID; now he's initiating wars of aggression.
The President of the United States is an embarrassment and a national disgrace.

There is little doubt in my mind that this is the actual plan.
This is scary because what’s stopping Putin from going after Zelenskyy now

The "reasonable explanation" is that the racists/white supremacists are restless (scared). They want to create a white ethno-state. I recognize that the premise for that would be that "racism/white supremacy" is "reasonable" which is completely unsupportable, but one cannot articulate ... (1/2)
Can someone give me a reasonable explanation for ICE. The premise of ICE is enforcement. Why do you need police enforcement? Meaning the premise of your argument is there are too many “illegals” that must be punished. Policing enforcement will always lead to violence. Liberals think it’s acceptable

I need to brush up on my history, but iirc this will be one of the very few unprovoked attacks on a sovereign country by the United States.

I wonder, had he gotten it, would he still have attacked Venezuela? I feel like I'm a ... (1/2)

All of their "thin blue line [between civilization and anarchy]" rhetoric has proven hollow. More police does not equate to less crime. Full stop.

The sooner our cop-loving neighbors understand that, the sooner we can rid ourselves of that racist, violence-loving, institution.
This KTVU piece about Oakland's 2 years of plunging crime rates has interviewees grasping at straws. The police union president acknowledges the safety gains despite very low OPD staffing levels, but then tries to take credit for the improvements anyway.

I don't hold out much hope for this, but when Democrats take control of Congress in 2027, one of the first laws they need to pass, with a veto-proof majority is one making journalists immune to police interference, with stiff, felony, mandatory years in prison for cops who violate the law.
2025 took a toll on the world’s journalists. "Worldwide, the 126 media industry people killed in 2025 by early December matched the number of deaths in all of 2024.... The [CPJ] estimates there are at least 323 journalists imprisoned worldwide." www.courthousenews.com/a-rough-year...
A rough year for journalists in 2025, with a little hope for things to turn around
Worldwide, the 126 media industry people killed in 2025 by early December matched the number of deaths in all of 2024, and last year was a record-setter.

POTUS is a convicted felon and was indicted for abusing power to overthrow a legal election, and we have Supreme Court justices who openly accept lavish gifts from people with interests before the court and its really weird to me that most people are…at most casually annoyed? And mostly w/ inflation

If you haven't already, you really need to ask yourself, why do Amazon, JP Morgan Chase, Home Depot, and Wells Fargo have an interest in funding a police training facility? What possible corporate interest could that serve?

Thank you so much for posting this Dr. Orrick! I knew my time was running out, but I'd forgotten what the actual drop-dead date was. I have some phone calls I need to make to say my good-byes. Oh shit; those people will be dead too. I guess we'll all just cadaverize together.

Elon Musk really isn't very smart. Just because he comes up with grand visions and speaks as if he's among the super-intelligent, doesn't mean he *is* intelligent. Hubris and intelligence are actually incompatible, as demonstrated by the Dunning-Kruger effect.
