Accessibility in Higher Ed; DEI-A is civil rights & just right; clawhammer; social democrat; tax the rich like it’s 1956–91% top rate!

DEI pitch from Kenji Yoshino: Talent is everywhere, opportunity is not. DEI closes gap & opens way for true meritocracy.

If you, like me, are the parent of a neuro-atypical child dreading this autism press conference, please remember: These are the people hurting our kids. Not us. They are the ones stigmatizing and pathologizing them. They are the ones peddling untested science. And we should be very, very angry.

This is a truly heinous & sickening way to treat human beings.

By the way, the majority of immigrants being detained have ZERO criminal record.

Republicans hold the majority. It's past time they join Democrats in calling for real oversight of these human rights violations.

July 4th is a day to celebrate.

Instead we are all stunned by the loss of food for the poor, and Health Care for 16 Million Americans.

To give a tax cut to Billionaires.

I'm aghast. We all are.

Go and protest today. Then take a break, recharge your faith in humanity.

Then come back on Fire!
We have always had two Americas. #IndependenceDay

Just a reminder of who Thom Tillis is:

In 2013, as N.C. House Speaker, he passed a massive voter suppression law that was struck down because it targeted Black voters "with almost surgical precision.”

In the Senate he voted against the Freedom to Vote Act and the John R. Lewis Voting Right Act.

Wow — how could anyone ever imagine that the GOP wouldn’t be a good faith actor on the filibuster!?
Senate Republicans promised to keep the filibuster after winning back the chamber in November.

Now they’re rapidly moving to kill it—shattering a precedent they defended vociferously for four years under Biden. And once they’ve crossed the Rubicon, there’s no going back. slate.com/news-and-pol...
Senate Republicans Are Poised to Deal a Shattering Blow to the Filibuster
Throughout the 2024 campaign, GOP senators shouted from the rooftops that they would preserve the tactic if they won back the chamber. Whoops.

If we still had a White House Office of Gun Violence Prevention, they’d be in Tallahassee helping the community access federal resources for survivors, families, & students. Then they’d take what was learned to help prevent it from ever happening again.

Trump killed it on day 2.
