Many ages ago, these would have all just been separate card games, each with its own interesting, mechanical twist. And yeah, most of them wouldn't sell well, but then you could buy a two hundred card box for three bucks, and for you and your five friends, it'd be your favorite game of the summer.

The older I get the more sympathy I have for primary characters on a long-running TV dramas. They can never hope to find long-term stability in their lives because their very existence is defined by ongoing conflict. It's not their fault. The system is set up for them to fail.
