I had no concept of trans people when I was growing up in the 70s, but still knew on some level that that's who I am.
Trans kids know who they are.
I'm not sure why this is so hard for bigots to get their tiny little heads around.

It's hard to explain how, in the 80s and 90s in NI, pre internet, as a kid, unless you had a queer person in your immediate family, you just didn't even know queer was a thing.
And yet I'm still queer.
You can take away the words kids can use to describe themselves, but they will always be queer.

I don’t think cis people understand the amount of pressure and coercion trans people face to not come out, to not transition. How swiftly and strictly gender is policed. How something as simple as listening to a song, a line of eyeliner, playing with the wrong toy meets stern correction.
