1. A landmark study was just published in The Journal of Pediatrics.

It found a 68% reduction in suicidality for trans youth getting HRT.

It also found only 7 of more than 400 stopped taking HRT... and of those that did, 4 still identified as gender-diverse.

Transgender care saves lives.
Study In The Journal Of Pediatrics Finds Trans Youth Care Lowers Suicidality, Few Detransition
The groundbreaking study found that suicidality dropped for transgender youth receiving hormone therapy by nearly 70%, with only 7 patients of 432 discontinuing treatment.

Many are experiencing days that are darker due to the seasons with celebrations that center the “return of the light.” Let's reconsider our relationship to the dark as the place we find redemption.

If you are more worked up about the possibility of a consensual same-sex sexual encounter than you are about child rape, there is something seriously wrong with you.

This is why Gavin Newsom is a non-starter for me.

Sure, he's "a fighter" who's landed a few good punches on Trump, but that's not the same thing as a leader.

A real leader doesn't fight back against an authoritarian takeover by using the most vulnerable as his shield.
I keep seeing people say, oh, trans people must take a hit for the greater good and, first of all, no, you don't get to discard someone else's rights and second, we know from past experience that marginalized communities like theirs are merely the first to be targeted. They'll come for you next.

The White House plans to bar hospitals that treat transgender children and youth from getting any Medicare and Medicaid payments. The move would affect trans youth who have private insurance, too. n.pr/4qFa1mY

Sorry I refuse to entertain the complete non-existent world where white people don’t know that countless cultures, including some of their own but certainly diasporic racialized ones, call their mom’s cousin’s friend’s sister they grew up with “cousin” and call close women elders “aunt/auntie”

Job's wife is vilified for her anguished response to tragedy in her household. What if we listened more closely to her challenge? Instead of avoiding the pain, we allowed a more courageous faith?

Got it.

Calling the East Wing “Eleanor Roosevelt’s legacy,” and not, say, the UN Declaration on Human Rights, is what is a real threat to her legacy.

I cannot give a flying fuck about the East Wing of the White House when SNAP benefits are being paused, millions are losing their healthcare, air traffic controllers are working without pay, and masked ICE thugs are attacking people in the street.

At what point can Grijalva get someone else to swear her in? Her election has been certified. Can’t any judge swear her in?
I continued to be baffled at this. It looks terrible for Johnson, for the GOP, and most of all for Trump - drawing extra attention to the Epstein story - while further energizing Dems. And for what? To postpone by a bit one moderately tough vote?
Rep. Johnny Olszewski D-MD (lower left) tried but failed to get recognized on the House floor today to get Rep.-elect Adelita Grijalva D-AZ sworn in. Speaker Johnson has refused to seat Grijalva for more than 3 weeks. "This is wrong and you know it Mr. Speaker."

Maybe what “centrist” Democrats really fear about Mamdani being elected mayor is that their skillful evasion of living up to their rhetoric will be exposed.

This may be minor in the larger face of fascism, but it is physically revolting to me. I have been to Wounded Knee, and solemnly listened while Lakota teachers told the story of the massacre perpetrated there. I have knelt on the blood-soaked ground and wept. There is no honor in this history.
Pro-massacre, pro-genocide.
What’s next? Calley posthumously being awarded the DSC? The excusal of atrocities during conflict is a pillar of MAGA national security.
